Memberships

7 questions
Does Southtown have an unlimited car wash membership?

Yes. Unlimited memberships start at $25 a month for Basic and go up to $45 a month for Ultimate, with Deluxe, Supreme, and Premium in between. Every membership gives you one wash a day, any day we are open, read by your license plate. You join online and can cancel online anytime. How memberships work.

Is an unlimited membership worth it?

If you wash more than a couple of times a month, usually yes. Compare the single-wash price for your tier with the monthly price on our wash menu. If you wash once or twice a month, a wash book is the better fit.

How many times a day can I wash with a membership?

Once a day. If you want a second wash on the same day, the cashier can ring it up at the regular single-wash price. There is no limit on how many days in a month you come.

Can I use my membership on more than one car?

No. Each membership is tied to one vehicle’s license plate and cannot be moved between cars. If your household has two cars that both need washing, each one needs its own membership.

How does the wash know I am a member?

A camera at the entrance reads your license plate. There is no sticker on your windshield and nothing to scan. Just make sure the plate on the car matches the one on your account. If you get a new car or a new plate, tell the cashier or email southtowncarwashes@gmail.com and we will update it.

Can I upgrade or change my membership tier?

Yes. Ask the cashier on your next visit or email us, and we will switch you to the tier you want.

Can I cancel anytime, and do you give refunds?

You can cancel anytime by logging in to the member portal. No phone call, no visit. Your membership stays active through the end of the month you have paid for, and we do not refund or credit unused days. Memberships bill on the 1st, so cancel before the 1st if you do not want the next month.

Washes and add-ons

6 questions
What is the difference between the five washes?

Each wash includes everything in the one below it. Basic cleans and dries the car. Deluxe adds an undercarriage rinse, clear coat protectant, and triple foam. Supreme adds Rain-X and Wheel Brite. Premium adds Armor All tire shine. Ultimate adds carnauba hot wax and a ceramic coating. What each add-on does.

Is your tunnel touchless or soft-touch?

Our tunnel is a conveyor wash where an attendant pre-washes every car by hand before it enters. If you have a wrap, fresh paint, or anything you are protective of, ask an attendant before you pull in and we will tell you straight.

What does the ceramic coating actually do?

Our Ceramic Coating is a spray-on ceramic sealant applied in the tunnel on the Ultimate wash. It bonds to the paint and glass so water beads up and runs off, adds a slick shine, and gives the finish a layer of protection against UV, road salt, and grime. It is not the multi-year coating a detailer installs by hand, and it is not scratch-proof. It is a strong layer of protection that Ultimate members get renewed every time they wash.

Can I take a ceramic-coated car through an automatic wash?

Usually, yes, and the Ceramic Coating in the Ultimate wash adds a fresh layer on top of the one you have. If your installer gave you specific care instructions, follow those, and ask an attendant if you are unsure about anything.

Are the vacuums really free?

Yes. The vacuums are free. Pull up after your wash and take as long as you need.

What is the difference between self-serve and the drive-through?

In the drive-through tunnel, an attendant preps your car and the equipment does the rest while you ride through. In the self-serve bays, you do the washing yourself with a pressure wand, paying with tap-to-pay or mobile pay. Self-serve is good for one stubborn spot or something that should not go through a tunnel. The tunnel is good when you want it done for you.

Hours and weather

2 questions
Are you open on Sundays?

No. We have been closed on Sundays since June 2024. As a family owned and operated business, we believe that everyone deserves time to rest and spend quality time with their families. We are open Monday through Thursday 8am to 6pm and Friday and Saturday 8am to 7pm.

Do you close for weather or holidays?

Sometimes. We close on major holidays, and in extreme cold or heavy winter weather we may close early or for the day to protect our customers, equipment, and team. Every closure is posted at the top of this website and on our Facebook page. If the weather is bad, check here before you drive over.

Your vehicle

4 questions
Will my truck or SUV fit through the wash?

Most pickups and SUVs go through every day. If your vehicle is lifted, has dual rear wheels, a ladder rack, a hitch-mounted carrier, or anything oversized, ask an attendant before you pull into the lane and they will tell you whether it will work.

Can you get bugs and bird droppings off?

This is what the hand prep is for. Point out the bugs or the bird droppings when you pull up and the attendant will work on them before the car enters the tunnel. Bird droppings are acidic and can etch paint if they sit, so sooner is better than later.

What about roof racks, bike racks, and antennas?

Ask an attendant before you pull in. Anything loose, including bikes, cargo boxes, and magnetic items, should come off before the tunnel. The attendant will look at your setup and tell you what is fine and what needs to come down.

How often should I wash in winter, and does the undercarriage rinse matter?

Every week or two while the roads are salted, and yes, the undercarriage matters most of all. Salt sits on the frame, brake lines, and suspension where you never see it, and that is where rust starts. The Undercarriage rinse comes with Deluxe and up, which is why Deluxe is the wash we point most people to from November through March. This is also where an Unlimited membership earns its keep.

Payment

3 questions
How do I pay at the drive-through?

Pay the cashier when you pull in, or drive straight through if you are an Unlimited member and the camera has read your plate.

How do I pay in the self-serve bays?

The self-serve bays take tap-to-pay and all mobile pay, so you do not need quarters.

Can I use a gift card, and do you accept tips?

Yes to both. Gift cards are good toward washes, and the cashier can apply one to your wash. Tips are never expected, and the crew appreciates them.
